Kelly NG Couture X Damiani
I was invited to an exclusive preview of Kelly NG Couture at Damiani to celebrate their editorial 2018 a/w Couture Collection, as featured in the October Issue of Tatler Magazine. The first thing I do when I am invited to a PR event is to check out the venue. As soon as I saw Damiani, I understood why Kelly NG Couture – A Fashion Designer that exemplifies the essence of sophisticated glamour in Bridal and Evening Wear chose Damiani to be the perfect backdrop to celebrate her new collection.
Located in Old Bond Street, I remember I first came across Damiani while on a mission to track YSL heels at their flagship store, across the road. I got talking to Diego, the store director and fell in love with it’s story. Founded in 1924, and in its third generation, Guido, Giorgio, and Silvia – are the main drivers behind Damiani’s strategic choices holding an unparalleled passion that, for nearly a century now, has merged with their savoir faire and tradition. Their accolades speak for their success – they can proudly claim to be the only jewelry company in the world to have won as many as 18 Diamonds International Awards.
Having looked at the jewellery myself, I can see why they are the recipients of such recognition. I admire that every jewel is hand made in Italy, so for those that desire one-time pieces, Damiani will offer you a unique and an unrepeatable work of art. Similarly, Kelly’s dresses were stunning, and takes inspiration from the bright flickering starry sky, where you can see thousands of pin pricks of light, each star or galaxy that’s millions of years old. I got all sorts of wedding envy…but was slowly humbled by the likely thought that i’ll be 30 and alone with 4 cats.
Khanum’s First Birthday
Celebrating Khanum’s first birthday and their exclusive collection release was more than an evening of cocktails and canapes at Bocconcino, Mayfair. It was about possibilities, chasing your dreams, and pure entrepreneurship. From working in Finance, to turning a simple vision into a healthy business and being able to quit her job and chase her dream full time, CEO Rokeya aka Roxy is a true inspiration to women. That to some is a reality they will forever remain intangible, but with a hustler mindset and vision that wakes you up every morning and compels you to work even harder, it is clearly possible. The philosophy of Khanum’s is to combine Roxy’s love for Western garments with her Eastern heritage; creating a series of timeless collections detailing an intricate, royal touch. The new monochrome edition is absolutely stunning, and embodies the very essence of the brand; elegance, sophistication and opulence. The party had a great crowd, good pizzas and fantastic dessert. If you are in for a night out, I would definitely invest in a statement blazer by Khanum’s – all eyes will be on you!
Launch of Pears
I attended the official launch party of Pears in Shoreditch on Thursday. The app allows you to upload videos, providing you with the opportunity to express your personality and preferences in a more creative and fun way. I guess in the modern day world filled with Snapchat filters, fav angles and editing, it allows you to see the authenticity of your potential partner that you may not find with other platforms. Their main allure is how safe it makes the daunting process of dating. I have heard some horror stories about stalkers so, it may be appealing that once you have found someone that tickles your fancy, you can call and facetime your partner without having to exchange your number. While I loved the event, I have never been one for dating apps but let me know if you guys have any success.
